Welcome in to Keeley's Custom Auto & Sign Shop's blog!
James Keeley has spent the last 40+ years of his life creating art. If any of you already know him, you may be thrown off to hear him referred to as an "artist," but that is exactly what he is. You likely know him as a "sign painter" or "paint & body man" and that is completely appropriate. However, I see a man whose talent applies to a variety of fields. I see a man whose artistic vision far exceeds your average Joe's.
My favorite quote of his has always been: "My imagination is like a bad neighborhood....you don't wanna go there alone!"
And, indeed, the man's imagination can bring anything you visualize to reality!
I asked him one day: "Have you ever thought about creating a web page?"
And to this day, a web page displaying his ability is yet to be created. That's why I wanted to start this blog; to tell the story of a man and a business that has served the Nashville community for over 4 decades.
I have seen Keeley pinstripe anything from an 18-wheeler to a bowling pin. He's painted murals in residential bathrooms, flamed office desks, marble-ized guitars, airbrushed desert scenes on the walls of Mexican restaurants, spent hours in the July heat on Center Hill Lake painting a houseboat, and has painted tour busses for countless musicians (it is the Music City after all). So, if you need work done or simply want to peruse some pretty interesting paintjobs and hear some timeless stories...enjoy alike!
